Tonight’s workout will continue our training for Team Champs (5 mile race, July 27). We’re holding the workout in Central Park so that you’re perfectly located to catch the NY Philharmonic afterwards.
Meeting point: Engineers’ Gate (90th St and East Drive) at 7:30 pm. We will warm up (crescendo) together, jogging (adagio) to the start of the workout on East Drive, opposite the Hamilton monument (back of the Met). Alternatively, meet at the start of the workout at 7:40.
The workout (you’ll need a watch) – this will be a two-part symphony:
1. 600 m (vivace*)/ 90 sec rest x 6-8 reps
2. 200 m (presto*)/ 45 sec rest x 2-4 reps
*Paces:
vivace = 5k pace, presto = faster than 5k pace (a pace you’d be able to race at for ~10 mins)
I won’t be running the workout (I’ll be purely conducting), so will be happy to hold some small items (no cellos please) so that you can give your best performance. Looking forward to seeing you later!
