Where: Meet at South Pumphouse of Reservoir (usually standing on the bridge)
When: 730pm, Wednesday, December 20, 2017
Workout: Strawberry Hill repeats
warm up: Easy one-mile group run across to West Drive until it intersects with a road leading to the top of Strawberry Hill (this is about 300 meters before you reach the Daniel Webster statue)
workout: 4-7 repeats of following loop:
340 meters at half marathon pace along West Drive until you reach Terrace Drive (turning uphill to your right; Daniel Webster statue is on your left, as is the normal turn off for the MNR 4 mile run). Begin hill work: 170 meters at 5k pace. Recovery begins one you reach the top and you jog down other side of Strawberry Fields for 170 meters. Recovery is at easy pace. Once you reach the bottom of the hill and rejoin West Drive, you have completed one loop.
Total mileage is 4.5-5.5, depending on the number of repetitions and the nature of your warm-down.
This is a great part of the park to do a workout. The top of Strawberry Fields is a lively location and will remind you of why NYC is a cool place. I look forward to seeing you there!
