Join us for Wednesday Night Speed, west side edition
Usual meeting time at place 7:00pm at Hamilton statue, 83rd St & East Dr behind the Met. Latecomers: meet at the crosswalk on the SW corner of the Reservoir 86th & West Dr.
This is a timed workout so bring a watch or phone. I recommend using the V.02 app, saving this post, or writing the workout down for reference.
We will meet on East Drive, warm up heading West around the Great Lawn, and continue the workout northward on West Drive.
The workout:
5 min warm-up
5 min at Threshold
2 min Jog Rest
3×2 min at interval with 90 sec rest (can change to 4 to amp up the workout)
1 mi jog
4×30 Sec Repetition Pace w/ 45 sec recovery
Coach’s message: We’re continuing to work on speed endurance by building fatigue with a longer interval at threshold followed by some faster reps. These workouts will make you more efficient at faster speeds so you can maintain those paces for longer.
