What better way to sharpen our preparation for Sunday’s Club Championships (or simply kick our fitness up a notch) than with a set of compound repeats on The Yard hill! And as this is Res Dogs Red Week, wear your club singlet or shirt for extra fun.
We will meet at 7p AT THE BOTTOM OF THE YARD HILL ON WEST DRIVE, NOT BEHIND THE MET! This is inside the park from the W81 entrance and next to the Delacourt Theater.
After a brief warmup, the workout is running up the hill we run down during MNR. The twist is that the first half is at 10k pace, then once across the Winterdale Arch at a 5k pace until reaching the crosswalk atop the hill. The recovery is the downhill return. Total uphill is ~400 meters.
Anyone running Club Champs will be limited to 4x to sharpen for the weekend’s race without depleting energy. Everyone else will run 6x.
As always, happy to field questions. There is a drinking fountain nearby, although feel free to bring hydration and know I will safeguard backpacks, extra layers (ha!) and containers of chocolate mousse. See you at The Yard!
