Come and join us this Saturday (10/20) on a 6.5, 12.5 or zero mile run to my apartment in Guttenberg, NJ. There will be some breakfast grub, amazing Manhattan views and good company all in one spot to congratulate those who ran Chicago and a good training run for those running New York, etc. Just bring yourself and a smile.

Who: Marathoners and those who love them…
When: Oct 20th.
a) 12.5 mile option: Meet at 9:30am at the regular Sat Morning Run or see the other options and get to the apartment around 11am.
b) 6.5 mile option: Meet at the 175th St subway stop on the A around 10:30am. From there it’s just 6+ miles. We’ll pick everyone up on our way from Central Park.
c) Other options below (bus, ferry, car, etc.)

What to bring: Nothing! I will have some breakfast food, cold drinks, etc. So, no need to bring anything with you.

Marathon Training Run (12.5miles): We’ll meet for the regular 9:30am run starting in Central Park, go north on Riverside Dr., run across the GWB, turn left to run down the Hudson River along River Road, turn right up Ferry Road, turn left at the top onto Boulevard East, make left into Galaxy Towers, Tower 2.

You could also meet those coming from Central Park at the 175th St subway stop on the A around 10:30am. From there it’s just 6.5 miles.

Not wanting to run to brunch?

Getting there: Bike, Bus, Ferry or Car

Bike (free): Cross the GWB and turn left on River Road for about 5 miles. Make a right to Ferry Road. Turn up the VERY steep hill (you will likely want to dismount at the corner and walk your bike up). Go into the lobby and bring the bikes into the apartment through the elevator. Also see the Ferry option below. Bikes are allowed on the Ferry.

Bus (2 options):

NJ Transit Bus ($3.20)
Go to the Port Authority on 42nd/8th.
Buy a round trip ticket at the NJ Transit kiosk using bus route 128.
Go to Gate 212
Take any bus (128, 165, 166), which leave approximately every 10min.
Get off at 69th and Boulevard East at The Galaxy Towers
Note that you must have a ticket in hand to board a bus at the Port Authority. For the return you are able to use cash.

Jitney Bus ($3):
Go to the middle of the block of 42nd St between 8th Ave / 9th Ave
Small white jitney busses that say Boulevard East are lined up
Board the bus, pay $3 cash
Get off at 69th and Boulevard East at The Galaxy Towers

Ferry ($9) – bikes allowed on the ferry:
Go to Pier 79 at 39th St and 12th Ave
Buy ticket at the kiosk to Port Imperial/Weehawken or download the NY Waterway App and purchase online ticket
Get off at Port Imperial
Exit ferry station and walk north, turn left onto Ferry Road and go up the hill and turn left at the top onto Boulevard East, make left into Galaxy Towers, Tower 2.

Drive ($13)
We have a garage in our building, so you are welcome to drive. Pull into the garage entrance at 69th and Boulevard East. Get a ticket. Leave half of the ticket on the dash and bring the other half into the apartment for validation. The bridge and tunnel have a $13 toll going back into NYC.
