Hi all!
Get excited not only is there a heat advisory for the next few days but we get to start our official 13-week training program for the NYC marathon or any other later fall marathon. 🙂
Week 1 details here:
Tuesday, August 7th
Meet for warm up: Engineers gate at 7:05pm
Meet for workout: 400 mark behind the Met (approximately 84th street east drive) at 7:30pm
Workout: 1-2 mile warm up (starting at 7:05pm or on your own), 3-5 x 1200m at MGP (marathon goal pace) on 400m jog recovery, 1-2 mile cool down
Where: Along Park drive from ~e84th St to ~e100th St
Thursday August 9th
Host: David Liang
Meet for warm up: Engineers gate at 7:05pm
Meet for workout: Engineers gate at 7:30pm
Workout: 1-2 mile warm up, 3-4 miles at MGP, 1-2 cooldown
Where: We will be doing the 4 mile loop of the park; 3 mile group will jog the last mile back to Engineer’s, 4 mile group will complete the full loop at pace.
Saturday, August 11th
On your own
Workout: 11-15 miles total: 6-10 easy, 1 mile @ MGP, 1 mile easy, 2 miles @ MGP, 1 mile easy
