Dear Res Dogs,
Effective immediately, we are suspending all TRD events—both groups runs and social events—until further notice. In an effort to keep our members healthy and contribute to the social distancing efforts underway in the broader NYC community, we will not be meeting as a club.
This is uncharted territory for us all, and we thank you for your understanding and personal contribution to the community-wide effort here in New York to help slow the spread of COVID-19.
We understand that people will continue to run during this time and may even choose to run with other club members. If you do so, we urge you to keep to small groups to minimize the possibility of personal exposure and to limit any possible spread of COVID-19.
Regardless of where or with whom you run, keep some physical distance between yourself and others, and if you’re not feeling well, STAY HOME.
We will continue to post the weekly training schedule for the BK Half so that folks can follow on their own.
While we won’t be able to gather as a club in-person, we’d love to keep connected virtually:
• Reminder that TRD is on Strava! Give and get kudos from fellow members while on sabbatical from post-run fist bumps.
• Tag @resdogsnyc in your personal running stories on Instagram so we can repost!
And, as Jess pointed out, one silver lining of more remote working may mean you can escape for a midday run. Sunglasses runs—in March!
If you have any questions or additional suggestions for how to keep connected during this time, please be in touch.
And for the latest information about COVID-19, please visit the CDC website or NYC DOH. And thank you in advance for your understanding and contributions to our collective effort to slow its spread.
Oh, and wash your hands 🙂
Very best,
Deirdre
