We’re taking advantage of the (still longer) daylight and a strategically placed drinking fountain to mix it up a bit with a popular workout: the stairs-hill combo at the northwest corner of Central Park.
We will MEET AT WEST DRIVE AND 102ND at 730p. We’ll warm up by going out of the park and heading north on the the Central Park West sidewalk. If you are late or it is more convenient, meet us as we run up CPW or at ~740p at the SE side of Frederick Douglass Circle at CPW and W110. [The workout begins at the bottom of this staircase.]
Keep in mind, the B-C train station at 110th-Cathedral Parkway is CLOSED FOR RENOVATIONS. Might as well get off at 103rd and join the warmup!
The workout is a set of stairs (we run up them), the bottom portion of the west Harlem hill (we run down it, concentrating on form) and a flat path along the wall parallel to Central Park North-110th (we recover on it). It’s a compact loop, yet packs a solid workout.
Option A: 5 repeats
Option B: 6 repeats
Option C: 8 repeats
There is a drinking fountain at the highest point on the loop but please feel free to bring a bottle or hydration belt or drink backpack. There’s also Park West Deli less than 100 yards away in case you want to buy something cold post-workout!
