Marathon training starts this week for those running NYC or any other late October/early November marathon. We’ll meet Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6:30pm behind the Met, unless otherwise posted. Saturdays long runs are on your own but feel free to coordinate with others and/or join our Saturday Morning Runs during your long runs. And be careful with the heat this week! Don’t over do it.
Tuesday 8/10: 1-2 miles easy, 3-5x 1200m @ Marathon Pace (MP) on 400m recovery, 1-2 miles easy. We’ll start with the 1200m at 6:30pm so come warmed up already.
Thursday 8/12: 1-2 miles easy, 3 miles @MP, 1-2 miles easy. Same, come ready for the 3 miles @MP at 6:30pm
Saturday 8/14: 11-15 miles including 1 mile @ MP, 1 easy, 2 miles @ MP, 1 easy as the last 5 miles of the run. Or just skip the pickups. Join SMR before, during, or after your long run!
