With the latest Nor’easter threat in Wednesday’s winter storm watch, we’re going to modify the workout to a location the Central Park Conservancy staff may be able to keep the pavement somewhat clear: the heavily trafficked Strawberry Hill. I am close enough to that spot to check footing throughout the day and assess whether any workout is prudent.
***** A post will go up between 4-430p Wed either confirming the workout or canceling it.
If we are able to run, we’ll do Strawberry Hill repeats. Planned meeting spot is the bottom of the West 74th exit ramp at 730p, NOT THE RESERVOIR BRIDGE. The workout is 4-6 repeats of a triangle loop: West Drive to the West 72nd ramp, right turn up the ramp to the top of the hill and then downhill on the West 74th ramp. The last part of West Drive, the uphill and downhill will be run at a pace to be determined by pavement conditions, the recovery is the first 75 percent of the flat.
Look for Wednesday afternoon’s post and keep your fingers crossed!
