Hey, do you realize this week’s Wednesday workout coincides with the shortest daylight day of the year? It’s true! There will be 9 hours, 15 minutes and 17 seconds between sunrise and sunset in NYC. Winter begins at 948p, and then we celebrate Thursday with an additional second of daylight and the six-month countdown to summer!
There’s only one way to celebrate the winter solstice, and that’s with the shortest (distance) workout of the year. This week we will tackle the steepest section of Cat Hill, some quick bursts and lots of merriment as we enter the season of holiday feasts, glad tidings and the countdown to 2023.
Simple workout:
—Run fast uphill
—Walk down to the starting point
—Repeat
We will meet at 7p at light pole E8301 behind The Met and finish our warm-up on East Drive. If you are late, or it is more convenient, meet us shortly thereafter midway up Cat, where it straightens out running uphill.
How many repeats you ask? Well, have you been naughty or nice?
Happy to safeguard backpacks, extra layers, stockings, menorahs and anything else you want to set to the side.
