Res Dogs, it’s that special day when we celebrate being part of the running community in every country! How great is that? And because it’s Wednesday we have a special hybrid workout designed for everyone (especially anyone who rarely or never runs Wednesday workouts).
BTW, this is the first of TWO (!!!) celebrations of Global Running Day, the second is this weekend’s SMGR, a 5-mile-ish destination run from the usual spot behind The Met, across Randall’s Island to Bronx Brewery. Gabe will provide all those details.
For this week’s Wednesday workout we will meet at 630p at our usual spot, light pole E8301 behind The Met and near the Hamilton statue.
The workout format is simple: We will measure our repeats using light poles as markers. We will run up East Drive, across 102CR and down West Drive to the top of The Yard hill (about W84). We will run four light poles at about 85 percent effort, then two light poles recovering at a slow jog. Easy-peasy!
Bring a mask in case we need it pre- or post-run, we are being polite to others in the park. And I am happy to carry any backpacks, extra layers, fluid bottles and mysteriously empty candy wrappers over to West Drive. See you at E8301!
