Welcome to another year of Wednesday night workouts! With the clock striking midnight it is time for the annual countdown workout: 1000m, 900m, 800m … down to a 100m sprint into 2019.
Everyone who has run this workout enjoys it a lot. You’ll see plenty of your fellow Dogs and it’s an excellent run whether you’re training for a race or maintaining your fitness. Bring your leftover 2019 party hats and noise makers!
We will meet at 730p at our usual spot: the Southern Pump House bridge above the bridle path just north of the 86th Transverse. The workout will take place on East Drive between ~84th-96th. We’ll get in a little warmup and if you’re late or it’s more convenient we’ll see you on the drive near the bridge at 740p.
There will be chalk marks on the drive where each repeat begins and ends. After each repeat, regardless of distance, is a 100m recovery. Target pace is 5k-10k-ish (pretty much whatever you want to run).
The last 100m ends close to our Engineers’ Gate meeting spot for Monday and Thursday. Per usual I’ll take care of any backpacks, jackets, fluid bottles, fruitcakes, etc.
