We should have excellent conditions this week for the Wednesday workout and one of the best spots to run after sundown: the Great Lawn loop. The Midtown skyline lights will be blazing as we run Fartleks (timed repeats).
We will meet at the Pump House bridge at 730p. If you are late or it is more convenient, you can meet us at 735p a few hundred yards away, at the NE bend of the loop. We’ll do a warmup circuit and then roll into the workout.
The workout is 3 minutes on at 5m-10k goal pace followed by a 2-minute jog recovery.
A workout is 5 repeats (25 minutes total).
B workout is 6 repeats (30 minutes total).
C workout is 7 repeats (35 minutes total).
Total distance for the workout is whatever you cover in the allocated time. FYI, the Great Lawn loop is 885 meters (968 yards, 0.55 miles).
IF YOU RAN CHICAGO and are itching to stretch your legs: Please feel free to join us, we’ll applaud your accomplishment and you can cheer on your fellow Res Dogs and jog a few easy loops as part of your recovery (no speed for you just yet!).
