Join us for Wednesday night speed April 17!
Usual time and meeting place 7:00pm, Central Park at Hamilton Statue behind the Met (83rd St & East Drive). We’ll head north on East Drive between the 0m and 1400m markers
The workout:
Come warmed up (0.5mi)
2 x 800m @ Theshold with 400m (jog) recovery
2 x 800m @ 10K pace with 400m (jog) recovery
1 x 800m @ 5K pace with 400m (jog) rest
4 x 200m @ 3K pace with 200m (jog) recovery
0.5mi Cooldown
Coach’s note:
We’re continuing to build speed endurance with 800’s, and we’re adding a faster 800 before finishing with the 4×200 set. 800 reps are one of the best overall predictors of performance over half and marathon distances–learn to love them!
