We’re nearing the Washington Heights 5k (wave if you still call it Coogan’s!), and whether this week’s conditions say so or not, that race is one of the club’s harbingers of spring. The best prep for our upcoming running in shorts-and-T-shirt-or-singlet weather is some fun repeats, and this week that means hitting the bricks on East 91st.
WE WILL MEET AT THIRD AVENUE AND EAST 91ST STREET at 7p, NOT BEHIND THE MET. Please make sure you’ve warmed up prior to the workout, though we’ll throw in a few blocks after announcements.
We will run the closed block between Second and Third, which has a pleasantly gradual slope. Repeat quantities and pace will be reviewed before the workout, there’s a bit of a twist to this format that will make it interesting.
Zero water fountains nearby, bring a bottle or hit the bodega across Third Avenue for hydration.
As always, happy to safeguard backpacks, extra layers and birthday cakes to celebrate George Washington’s 291st. See you at E91st!
