Week 3 training details here. Hopefully third times a charm and we can avoid rain this week! 🙂
Tuesday, August 21st
Meet for warm up: Engineers gate at 7:05pm
Meet for workout: Tavern on the Green (approximately 67th street West drive) at 7:30pm
Workout: 1-2 mile warm up (starting at 7:05pm or on your own), 4 x 1600m at MGP (marathon goal pace) on 400m jog recovery, 1-2 mile cool down
Where: Around the bottom of the park: Tavern on the Green to Summer Stage, Summer Stage back to Tavern on the Green
Thursday, August 23rd
Meet for warm up: Engineers gate at 7:05pm
Meet for workout: Engineers gate at 7:30pm
Workout: 1-2 mile warm up, 4-6 mile and MGP, 1-2 cool down
Where: We will be doing the 5 mile loop of the park starting with Thursday Night Run; 4 mile group will jog the last mile back to Engineer’s, 5 mile group will complete the full loop at pace, 6 mile group will do a 1/2 mile out and back after the 5 mile loop
Russell will be hosting both Tuesday and Thursday’s workouts.
Saturday, August 25th
On your own
Workout: 15-19 miles total including 7-8x 800m @ MGP on 800m jog
For instance if you wanted to run 17 miles you could run 8 miles then 8x 800m @ MGP/800m jog followed by 1 mile easy to get to 17. The 800s should be done in the second half of the run.
