Our pal Jay has a bit of ick this week, so we’re playing together again this Wednesday!
We’re meeting at the usual spot and time —- Southern Pumphouse at 730p —- and warming up across the Great Lawn to the Swedish Cottage (across from The Yard at the bottom of, you guessed it, The Yard hill). If you are late, or it’s more convenient to dash last-minute into the park from, say, West 81st Street, we’ll meet you at 740p at the crosswalk at the bottom of The Yard hill.
Compound repeats mean we run 5k-10k target pace from the cottage to the Winterdale Arch (the bridge over the bridal path) and then turn on the gas for the second half, to the crosswalk at the top of the hill. The steepest part of the climb is in that upper portion, so our quads will be singing holiday carols by the finish. The recovery is downhill to the start, beginning with a wave toward Times Square (visible through the bare trees).
A=5 repeats
B=6 repeats
C=7 repeats
Total distance is ~3.7-4.9 miles including warmup and recoveries.
Bring your watch and your ho-ho-ho holiday spirit!
Brett
