Tonight will we be continuing along with some workouts meant to be a bit shorter and faster. Useful in preparation for Club Champs this summer, for anyone thinking about a longer race in the fall and/or for just building some fitness by running faster than we often do.
East 6th St track meeting at 7:30pm.
2 lap warm up w/ strides
3-4x 800m @ 5k pace (effort you could sustain for about 20′) with 1.5′ standing rest
3-4x 400m @ 10-15″ faster than above with 1′ standing rest
NOTE: There is a chance of thunderstorms tonight. While I won’t be able to post on the message board I will post an update by 6:30pm on Facebook once I check the radar closer to game time.
To get to the track from uptown I recommend subwaying to Union Square (4, 5, 6, N, R, W, Q) or 14th/7th (1, 2, 3 trains) from there it is 1.4 or 1.9 mile jog over to the track. Recommend giving yourself an extra 5 minutes to get to the track as there are lots of traffic lights as you run across town.
