We’re deep into our six-week workout block for general fitness and have been alternating repeats on hills and flats. In honor of Justin, one of the club’s former Wednesday workout leaders, and because it’s Res Dogs Red Week, we’re going to combine the two and run hills *and flats. Because we can!
We will meet at 730p Wed at the usual spot, the Southern Pump House bridge (near the E85 entrance adjacent to The Met), and warm up to West Drive and 102nd. If you are late or it is more convenient, meet us ~740p at West Drive-102nd.
Justin knew variety is the spice of life, so he created a 5 x 1k workout over five different routes, with 60-second standing recovery after each:
*From West Drive-102nd to East Drive at ~97th St
*From ~E97th back to West Drive-102nd
*From West Drive-102nd to East Drive at ~107th St
*From East Drive at ~107th St back to West Drive-102nd
*Out-and-back on 102nd, West Drive to East Drive to West Drive
There’s a bit of everything in the mix and the format earns universal praise. Bring fluids if you wish, there are no water fountains nearby, and while you run I’m happy to safeguard your backpacks, extra clothing layers, water bottles and chocolate chip cookies. See you Wednesday night!
