Howdy strangers! Do you remember 58 weeks ago, the giddy feeling we had at the first big week of training for Brooklyn Half? I have thought many times of our standing at the crest of Cat Hill after that solid workout, everyone panting a few days out from NYC Half and ready for better weather.
And then … well, no spoiler alert needed.
This week we’re going to repeat that fateful workout, thereby banishing any demons from the park and starting afresh.
PLEASE SIGN UP for the workout at this link so we can track attendance:
REMEMBER we are wearing masks, socially distancing when not running and being polite to others in the park!
We will meet at 630p Wednesday at the temporarily usual spot, light pole E8301 behind The Met (closest one to the Hamilton statue). If it is more convenient or you are late, meet us at The Boathouse at the bottom of Cat Hill at 740p.
Be aware that those of us meeting behind The Met will have a ~1.5k warmup, so if you’re going straight to The Boathouse please make sure you’re loose.
The workout:
2-3x Cat Hill at hard effort, then
4x800m at half-marathon goal pace (or good cruising pace) on 1-minute jog recovery, then
2-3x Cat Hill
I am happy to watch backpacks, extra layers, fluid bottles and chocolate delicacies. Bring your watch!
Brett
