Want to get more involved in the club? We want to hear from you!

There's a lot going on, and the club's officers need help to make it all happen. To that end, we've created three new sub-committees that we would love to staff with a few good dogs (figuratively and literally--be sure to pay your dues!). They are: Sponsorship Committee, PR/Community Outreach Committee and Cheer Squad. Please see brief descriptions for each below.

Sponsorship Committee

The Sponsorship Committee will be responsible for seeking out partnership opportunities for The Reservoir Dogs, which may include:
- Free trial/discount classes at local fitness boutiques (past examples include Fhitting Room, Tone House, Yoga Works, and Bikram Yoga UES)
- Discounts at local sports stores or retailers
- Partnerships with related brands, e.g., sports-related beverages [we get a number of inquiries from interested companies and brands so much of this would be following up on these leads]
- Identifying any additional opportunities synergistic to the TRD brand

The committee would reach out to these potential partners, and also coordinate the details surrounding any club involvement, such as polling the club and scheduling the day for a TRD-specific class or coordinating deliveries/best day to trial a sports drink.

PR/Community Outreach Committee

The PR/Community Outreach Committee will be responsible for helping TRD gain visibility across the running community and beyond. They will identify key events and opportunities that TRD can participate in including:
- Volunteer opportunities for TRD (both related to and outside of NYRR)
- NYRR Club Fair (new annual event the week before Team Champs)
- NYRR Parade of Clubs (annual event around the marathon)
- Handling media opportunities (past examples include coverage in Men’s Health)
- Spearheading any initiatives like #RDRW that can be used to help promote the club
- Identifying any additional club promotion opportunities

This committee would both identify these opportunities and coordinate logistics involving scheduling, recruiting members to participate, etc. 

Cheer Squad

The Cheer Squad will be responsible for the organization of a cheer squad for key races as well as post-race activities in order to encourage team participation in NYRR club points races and foster team spirit. The ultimate goal for the future of the committee will be to have a cheer presence at all NYRR Club Points races as well as other key races as outlined below:
- Coordinate with the Club Points leader (Bill Dye) and club leadership to identify NYRR races with strong attendance good for cheer squad
- Organize 1-2 cheer points for races and ensure location and list of runners posted, help ensure cheer swag (e.g., signs, cow bells) available
- Coordinate a post-race social activity for the cheer squad and runners, e.g., picnics, post-race meal, etc.  
- Support logistics for annual team picnic after NYRR Team Champs (in 2017 scheduled for Saturday, August 5)
- Key races:
    o Washington Heights Salsa, Blues & Shamrock (Coogan’s) 5K
    o NYC Half Marathon
    o Brooklyn Half Marathon
    o Queens 10K
    o Bronx 10 Miler
    o NYC Marathon
