Want to be a world record holder? Join the New York Road Runner’s Global Running Day Treadmill Challenge! This Global Running Day (June 7), New York Road Runners is attempting to set a new record for “Most People Running in a Treadmill Relay”.

NYRR will work to achieve this record over the course of the day (and night) Tuesday and Wednesday, June 6-7, and the Res Dogs have an hour-long team slot on Tuesday, June 6, 8-9pm. Please help us fill it! To participate, you must be comfortable running on a treadmill (they’ll be using a Woodway model) and run 9-minutes/mile or faster as we will need to get at least 7-8 runners to run over the course of the hour to stay on world record pace (and be sure you're on the Good Dog list!).

If you are interested in participating, please let me know by tomorrow (Thursday) morning. We need to send in the roster to NYRR this week so thanks in advance for your understanding on the short turnaround! If we have more interest than we can reasonably accommodate in the hour we will draw names from a hat. Those who volunteer for the Queens 10K will get double lottery entry as thank-you. We will also see how much space there might be for a cheer squad.

And stay tuned for details regarding our own plans for National Running Day on Wednesday, June 7. We will have a special relay workout and post-race celebration so please save the date and tell your family and friends!
