Monday Night Run! 2/13/2017

Postby Kat Mal on Mon Feb 13, 2017 10:27 am

It's Monday RUNday! Come join us for Jay and Brett's wonderful hot chocolate and cookie run! Right after the run, we'll cuddle up to some steaming hot chocolate and treats before we head over to Dorrian's to play the Cookie Challenge for this week's Olympic Game! There's no better way to spend Valentine's Day Eve =)

Tentative Schedule of Olympic Events:

WEATHER: About 33 degrees, but will feel like 22.

WHAT: Monday is our biggest group run and most social run. Groups run in pace groups from 10 min/mile down to 7-6 min/mile. Choose a run of 4,5, or a fast paced 6 mile loop.

WHEN: Monday February 13, 2017, 7:30 pm

WHERE: Central Park, nearest to Engineer's Gate on east side at 90th street and 5th Avenue (just across the street from the Guggenheim). Look for the red shirts by the benches

COURSE: head north on east drive; cross park at 102nd street transverse. On west drive, head south. At 72nd street transverse, choose either to cross the park (for a 4 mile loop), or opt to continue on east drive to the park's lower loop (5 mile option). Whichever you choose, once you are on the east side drive again, head north and finish where we started!

POST RUN FUN We are most likely heading to Dorrian's on 84th street and 2nd Ave. (now just steps away from the Q train)

Mini Notes:
This is a fun run. Some people are in recovery and some are not - we welcome you all. We do ask that y'all please do your best not to leave any of your fellow pace group members running by him/herself unless they ask you to. If you decide to cut out early, before returning to the start/finish, we ask that you tell at least one runner who is completing the run, so that they can tell us. Also, Dogs run in packs. This means that we can sometimes run wide. We ask that you please keep to the left of the double white lines (& stay on the dirt by the tree at our meet-up spot), so that there is room for other Central Park enthusiasts.
